I work with students who have learning differences and many are non-readers. The
Rime To Read series has been a sprinkling of “fairy dust” for these students. Suddenly, the students are reading in class and asking to take the books home. The color-coding, repetition, and sight vocabulary, are all excellent aides to stimulate reading. Students enjoy the happy readings and feel empowered with their new ability to decode and finally read!

I have enjoyed using the "Rime to Read" program with my young students. The color coding aspect of the program makes phonetic rules and sounds instantly recognizable and meaningful. It also increases phonemic awareness and helps turn my students into capable readers. Thank you for producing such an excellent system for emerging readers. My students love to read "Rime to Read" and I love it that they love to read.

I bought 'Rime to Read' for my kindergarten-age daughter, who was catching on to reading but hadn't yet acquired any real traction. She LOVED the series, and she actually started waking me up at 6 every morning with 'Rime to Read' books in hand because SHE wanted to practice! The series is terrific -- very logical and a real confidence-builder. Now that Gillian has read all the books, she's moving on to harder materials with great enthusiasm.

From the moment Andrew started with "Rime to Read" he was hooked. He loves to carry the books with him and read them to anybody who will listen. He enjoys each new character that is introduced into the series and is excited when the old characters reappear. Most importantly, he is proud of his success and looks forward to each new book!

“For the past 2 years I’ve been searching for a book or series of books that would help my daughter learn to read. I knew what I wanted: something that was fun, started with simple words like CAT, HAT, BAT, and progressed in a manner that made sense to a young child. Most importantly, I wanted my daughter to feel a sense of self-mastery with her reading skills. I didn’t want her to get frustrated and discouraged.

I thought other book series were simple only in the presentation of line drawings and writing. They introduced new words that a child couldn’t possibly read or figure out and the progression of the stories didn’t build on previous stories.

Along came the Rime to Read series…EUREKA! I found it! The books were simple, with charming illustrations, and each book built on the previous books’ words. There are color cues so that my daughter knew the letter combination of “A-T” would sound the same in the words cAT, bAT, mAT, etc.

My daughter loves the Rime to Read book series. I started reading them with her to show her how the words build on each other and to introduce the sight words. We did this several times and now she reads the books by herself, to me, her dad, and her baby brother. Her feeling of mastery over reading is tremendous!

I just asked her what she thought of her Rime to Read books and she said, “they are GREAT!” I can’t recommend these books enough. They are indeed, terrific!”

I teach a kindergarten class to help academically at-risk students. I
downloaded, laminated, and bound the first book. I had one little boy
who has not attempted to read in his regular kindergarten class, read
that book. He was so excited. I had him read it to our principal who
gave him a pencil, certificate for a pizza, and a ribbon. The boy came
back just beaming. He said he was a reader boy and didn't know he could read.

I wasn't going to order the set because my class is based on a grant that has run out. I went in the next day after this and he asked when I could bring the next book in for him. Needless to say, I had to order the set.

I wish I could have had a video of how excited he is. He must of hugged me about five times that day thanking me for making this book for him.

I think that he was amazed with himself
that he could actually do something the other kids have been doing.

Thank you so very, very much.

I just wanted to pass along how happy I am that we found these books. My search for something very easy to read began when my 2 ½ year old asked me repeatedly to teach her how to read. I thought she was way too young and didn’t pursue it until she started the process on her own. By her 3rd birthday (last summer), she had picked up most of her basic phonics and started recognizing words like “stop” (she saw it in a book and recognized it from stop signs). It was then that I decided it was time. However, because she was so young I really wanted to start with something very easy. The “beginner books” at the library surprised me with how difficult they are!

So, my search began and finally I came upon The Rime To Read series. It was exciting for her to find books that she could read herself and I’m very happy that we found these. Her pre-school has a licensed kindergarten and I’m going to show these books to the teacher as she was interested when I told her about them (and of course, I’m telling all my friends as well).

Thank you for producing something that fills the gap between letter recognition and the “beginner books” already out there,

To whom it may concern,
My name is Suzanne Albeanise, & I own Helping Hands Daycare & Preschool. We were formerly located , in beautiful lakeview, a suburb of New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina destroyed our school. When the 17Th St. canal Levee broke, it flooded our school w/ over 8 ft. of water.

One of the highlights of my Pre-K program has been Rime to Read. I have promoted 2 years worth of children to Kindergarten with the ability to read, an accomplishment which is usually not the norm in this area. I can't wait to re-open & re- introduce this wonderful program to a new set of families.

These books are fantastic & should be a tool in all Pre-K reading programs. The lack of a good reading program is so evident in this area, the more people who know about this, the better.

Hurricane Katrina took alot from us, but we will rebuild & be better than ever!
Thank You!
